2024–2025 Open Enrollment

What to Know

It’s benefits enrollment season! As a current resident or fellow, you can make changes to your benefits during annual Open Enrollment, which takes place May 1–24. Changes to your benefits elections are effective July 1.

Your Top To-Do’s

  1. Enroll in medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health coverage through PlanSource, except for UC Irvine residents and fellows, who should follow the instructions provided by your local Graduate Medical Education (GME) office.
    • You were automatically enrolled in life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), and short-term and long-term disability insurance as a new resident or fellow. You do not need to take any further action.

For more detailed instructions, visit the How to Enroll page.

New Resident or Fellow?

If you are a new resident or fellow, you have 30 days from your program start date to enroll in medical, dental and vision coverage and in a flexible spending account. Your coverage begins retroactively to your program start date. Learn about all the benefits available to you and check out the New Residents and Fellows page for your specific to-do list.
